David started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 17 when he co-founded APC Solutions – now a leading provider of wireless communications solutions.  In 2013, David founded Simboc, a business consultancy & management company. David is the Essex Chairman for the Federation of Small Businesses and a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) ambassador for STEMNET.  As a highly accomplished, award-winning company director, entrepreneur, business coach & motivational speaker his knowledge and expertise have helped countless businesses and students to find success.

A serial entrepreneur with a passion for teaching business owners to increase their skill set in topics as diverse as ‘How to Present Effectively to Unleashing the Power of Excel.’ Her betterACTnow company created, recorded and distributed training CDs designed to help businesses manage their database lists. Now she works with business owners to implement video into their marketing mix. Creating YouTube channels and uploading fresh video content is something Elene has proved works with her Preloved Chica brand on YouTube. Elene’s favourite mantra is Continuous and Never Ending Improvement.



Anglia Ruskin Enterprise Academy (AREA) is a central ‘hub’ based in the Lord Ashcroft International Business School that develops, coordinates and consolidates all enterprise and entrepreneurship extra-curricular activities across the whole of Anglia Ruskin.

This Involves students at the heart of these activities including, (but not limited to): Be Your Own Boss Seminars; Entrepreneurship Support Programmes and our Business Planning competitions – The Little Pitch and The Big Pitch that provides seed funding and mentoring as part of the university’s student enterprise agenda. And by building on cutting edge research and engaging with external organisations including: SME’s, Public and Private sector organisations will develop a programme that engages students in real life activities.
